Gary Lee - Owner & Director
Gary founded Great Wall Hiking in November 2009 in Beijing. Prior to the business establishment, Gary was a national tour leader for Australian Peregrine Adventures & British Exodus. Previously Gary worked as local guide for a few local travel companies after graduation from university.
Gary had traveled extensively in China when leading groups from English-speaking countries all over the world. Being engaged in travel industry for 22 years, Gary has insight understanding of the culture difference between Chinese and Western travel industries.
Tony - Marketing Manager
Tony joined our team in May 2016. He traveled extensively throughout China and has a profound knowledge of central Henan, hometown of Shaolin Kungfu.
He’s currently responsible for online marketing and social media promotion.
Peter Cao - Hiking Guide
Peter joined Great Wall Hiking in June 2010. Peter has rich experience of leading English-speaking groups all over China since 2002. Peter had traveled China extensively and the Great Wall is his favorite. Previously Peter was working as national tour leader in a British adventure company for 7 years.
Peter is knowledgeable about the Great Wall of China and is happy to share you with the history, culture and other stories. Sometimes he is quiet, however he will answer all your questions if you initiate the topic. Peter also can give you suggestion and advice about traveling other parts of China based on his past leading experience.
Cheney Wu - Hiking Guide
Cheney joined Great Wall Hiking in October 2011. Cheney had walked all major sections of the Wall near and around Beijing, e.g. Shanhaiguan at the beginning, Huangyaguan the Great Wall Marathon site in Tianjin and parts of the Wall in Inner Mongolia. Cheney engaged in hiking on the Great Wall since 2006. He’s an adventure lover and hiked many other places all over China. He’s now the chief hiking guide for charity & fundraising events groups.
Robert Luo - Hiking Guide
Robert joined Great Wall Hiking in November 2010. Previously Robert worked as a local guide for 3 years in Beijing. He’s familiar with all major historical and cultural sites in the city.
Robert is young, energetic and keen to the Great Wall of China. You will feel relaxed with him even you walk hard on the Great Wall. Robert is very popular among kids.
Please ask for Robert if you bring kids into the hiking on the Great Wall.
Tao - Hiking Guide
Tao joined Great Wall Hiking in September 2013. Tao had walked the Great Wall around Beijing for over 3 years, and is one of those people who is fun to be with, his humour and hiking route knowledge means your time with Tao is top.
Danny - Hiking Guide
Danny joined Great Wall Hiking in early 2015. He had walked the Great Wall for 4 years from Shanhaiguan to Beijing extensively. He’s energetic and humorous and there are always laughs in his groups. He’s now mainly leading students groups.
Yaxin - Hiking Guide
Yaxin joined Great Wall Hiking in late 2014. He’s passionate, humorous and a very good story-teller. Previously he worked for an Australia adventure company to escort groups from China to Russian by trans-Siberia train, up to one week on train. He’s popular among active adventure travelers.
