 Sad news comes!


The popular and well-known hiking trail from Jiankou to Mutianyu is PERMANENTLY BLOCKED AND SUSPENDED. A barrier wall was erected on the border (Tower 23) between Jiankou and Mutianyu on 13th August 2025. There's no way, detour, shortcut or possibility to enter Mutianyu anymore. It's now impossible and illegal to climb over the barrier wall as it's over 2 meters high. It's expected that digital camera will be installed shortly.


If you're keen to Zhengbeilou Tower at Jiankou, you can walk uphill to Zhengbeilou Tower and then go back to Xizhazi village. It will be a 3-hour returning walking. You can stay on the top of Zhengbeilou Tower for half an hour or even longer, but there's no more walking further.



We're very honored to discover this hidden trail 16 years ago, and the first operator to walk from Jiankou to Mutianyu. More than 3,000 guests from all over the world had walked this section with us in the past years. Beautiful photos will keep all these lovely memories forever!
