Jason and Lorelle, a young American couple, came to Beijing for a 3-day holiday. Jason says “ We are not tourists.” They prefer places off the beaten path. After the city tour, they discovered the Panjiayuan Antique Market. Lorelle was amazed by all of the old Chinese stuff.

For the Great Wall hiking, they selected Jiankou section – totally wild, original and unrestored. After the 4-hour hiking, they had hunch in a farmer’s house in an old village called Xizhazi. They were fascinated by the countryside life and took photos everywhere. While having lunch,Lorelle suddenly spotted a basket in the courtyard which was used to carry mess kit. Lorelle just couldn’t believe it was made by the farmer himself. When she was assured of that,she insisted to buy it and bring it back to US.
